Warfingers,
Whippletree and the Engine House are at the heart of Withy Mills Farm, a
working dairy farm dating back to the 18th Century. The farm lies one mile from
the village of Timsbury situated between Bath and Bristol. The cottages have
been sympathetically restored from stone farm buildings to provide delightful
accommodation for 21st century living. Original stone and joinery have been
re-used where possible and traditional methods used to bring the buildings back
to their former glory.
Timsbury
has a strong industrial heritage with reminders of a bygone age all around the
farm. Mining was an important industry here during the 19th century and both
the canal and railway were in operation at that time. Now the old mining
batches (spoil tips) and the canal basin have become a haven for wildlife.
The area is a great place to enjoy your holiday. From the grandeur of Bath to the delightful small villages to be discovered there are activities to keep everyone occupied. Many sports including golf, horse riding and swimming are available in the vicinity. Shopping in Bristol and Bath is close at hand and of course the historic legacies of both cities are open for all to explore.
